Rachel Loera, 38, Enjoyed latch hook rugs, Mexican music, and cooking programs

Photo of Rachel Loera Rachel Loera (nee Carrion), 38, of Lorain passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in University Hospital, Cleveland following a lengthy illness.

She was born August 26, 1969 in Bay Village. She was a life long resident of Lorain. She graduated from Southview High School in 1987.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, where she was an aide for the parish school of religion. She enjoyed making latch hook rugs, making crafts, Mexican music and cooking programs.

She is deeply missed by her husband Jose Luis Loera, sons Marco A. and Jorge A. Loera both of Lorain; sisters Sylvia Encalado, Juanita Contreras, Irene Valadez, and Nina Lozano all of Lorain, Irma Zamarripa of Mission, Texas and Yolanda Carrion Bustamante of Elyria; brothers Felipe Encalado of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ruben Encalado of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jose Luis, Fernando, Jessie, Ernie, Oscar and Danny Carrion all of Lorain and 33 Nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jose J. and Maria P. (nee Nieto) Carrion; sister Rachel Carrion in December of last year, brother Jose Antonio Carrion who died in Vietnam and a maternal grandmother Enedina Chrispine.

The family will receive friends Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday with closing prayers in the funeral home at 8:15 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 9:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rachel Loera Memorial Fund at any Lorain National Bank branch.
