Ruth E. Benn, 86, Assembler for Blonder-Tougne Manufacturing
Ruth E. Benn (nee Smith) 86, of Vermilion, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 6, 1921 in Fishkill, New York, and has lived in Vermilion 3 years moving from Waretown, New Jersey.
She was an assembler for Blonder-Tougne Manufacturing in New Jersey. She enjoyed traveling, and playing with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Roane of Anderson, IN, Debbie Luccio of Berlin Heights and Barbara Palmer; sons, Peter and Henry Palmer; 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Claudia (nee Clark) Smith; her 1st husband, Roy McAllister and 2nd husband, William Benn; a sister, Belle Smith and brothers, Ken and Jim Smith.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Guy Morton will officiate.
