Agnes C. Horvath, 87, Secretary at Thew Shovel
Agnes C. Horvath, 87, of Lorain, died Tuesday April 8, 2008 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain after a short illness.
She was born April 21, 1920 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Agnes was a graduate of St. Ladislaus Catholic School in Lorain and a 1938 graduate of Lorain High School.
She worked at Thew Shovel in Lorain as an office secretary for 35 years retiring in 1978.
Agnes was a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Lorain, the Elyria Senior CYO and the Sai-Mar Club.
She is survived by her nieces Anne Petroskey and Elizabeth Williams, both of Lorain, nephew Joseph Hribar of Sheffield Village and several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Theresa Horvath (nee Hari), sisters Ann Hribar and Theresa Saam, brother John Horvath, nieces Rosemarie Furman and Barbara Mittlestedt and nephew Peter Hribar.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, 1412 E. 29th St., Lorain. The Rev. James Schmitz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
