Thurman E. Cain, 81, Wored as a Pipe Threader at US Steel Corp.

Thurman E. Cain, 81, of Lorain passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph due to a short illness.

Mr. Cain was born on December 2, 1926 in Smithfield W. VA. He had lived in Lorain for past 46 years.

He worked as a Pipe Threader in 7 Lap at the US Steel Corporation and retired in 1983 after working there for 32 years.

Prior to working at the Steel Corp. he worked at American Crucible.

For the past 13 years, he had been assisting his son Kevin at All-Pro Sewer Cleaning Inc. He is a WWW11 Army Veteran.

Survivors include his Sons Lydle Cain of McArthur, OH, Kevin Cain of Lorain, Daughters Catherine Smith of North Olmsted, OH and Wilda Hurst of Knoxville, TN, 10 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren and sister Lois Alheit of Elyria.

Preceded by Wife Mable L. Cain in 1992, son Tom Cain in 1989, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation is Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home 2920 Broadway Lorain, OH. The funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Military service will be provided by DAV Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
