Alice M. Miller, 77, Enjoyed Bingo and Polka Music
Alice M. Miller (nee Bonko), 77, of Lorain, died Saturday April 19, 2008 in the emergency room at Community Regional Medical Center in Lorain after a sudden illness.
She was born July 11, 1930 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Alice was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Lorain.
She worked for the Lorain city schools as a cafeteria worker for many years until her retirement.
Alice was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union, the Jednota and St. Ann’s Lodge #114. She enjoyed spending time with her three sons and their families, playing bingo and dancing to polka music.
She is survived by her sons: Michael Klein and his wife Linda of Port Charlotte, Florida, David Klein and his wife Kim of Amherst and Daniel Miller of Lorain, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and dear friend of 15 years William Markuzic of Sheffield Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband Adelbert Miller, parents John and Mary Bonko (nee Banaski), twin brother Alfred Bonko, brother John Bonko and sisters Agnes Sulko and Mary Ann Shutic.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 3-5, 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where St. Ann's Lodge #114 will recite the rosary Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
