Theodore T. Poprock, 83, US Steel Retiree
Theodore T. Poprock, 83, of Lorain, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain following an extended illness.He was a lifelong resident of Lorain, graduating from Lorain High School.
Theodore worked for 42 years at US Steel Corporation in Lorain in the BOP shop and pipe mill.
A member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Lorain, Ted sang in the church choir.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Frances (nee Sedlak), daughters Nancy (Anthony Corky) Bonkoski of Brownhelm Township and Kathleen (Joel) Hendrickson of Henrietta Township, granddaughters Audrey (Mike) Stover of Lorain, Lynn (Hooman Shahidi) Mahony of Mason and Jennifer Mahony of Cleveland, grandson Matthew Bonkoski of Lorain, great granddaughter Taylor Stover of Lorain, brothers Edward (Mary) Poprock, Albert Poprock and William (Helen) Poprock, all of Lorain and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant son Thomas Poprock, parents Peter and Sophie Poprock (nee Flaczynski) and brothers Donald Poprock and John Poprock.
Private family services were held. The Rev. David A. Novak, parish administrator of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain, presided. Entombment was in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
Arrangements were under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain.
