Robert J. Kiser, 78, US Army Veteran

Photo of Robert J. Kiser Robert J. Kiser, 78, of Lorain died unexpectedly Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

Mr. Kiser was born in Lorain, OH on May 13, 1929, the son of the late Edward J and Rose (nee Ehrenfeld) Kiser.

He was a graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1947. He was a US Army veteran serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain, where he had been an usher and a member of the Zion Men's Club.

Mr. Kiser retired as an engineering assistant at Centurytel in 1992 after 39 years of service.

He was a member of Communications Workers of America Local 4370 and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a skilled woodworking enthusiast, enjoyed collecting and building Hubley model cars and in his younger years loved to bowl. He enjoyed most spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Kiser is survived by his wife Mary L. (nee Frank) Kiser to whom he was married on July 16, 1955, his daughter Deborah L (Terry) Brown of Vermilion, sons Kenneth J Kiser, Mark R Kiser both of Lorain, grandchildren Amy L. Brown, Jordan A. Brown, Justin K. Brown, Hallie N. Brown, sisters Joanne L Aquilla, Carolyn Szabo both of Lorain, and Norma Jean Copeland of Geneva.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 6, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church, 5100 Ashland Ave., Lorain, with Rev. Kevin Saylor, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain, OH.
