Mary A. Sesek, 89, Member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church
Mary A. Sesek (nee Soklich), 89, of Lorain, died Wednesday May 7, 2008 at the Slovene Home for the Aged in Cleveland.She was born July 17, 1918 in Lorain and had lived in Lorain most of her life. She had also lived in Cleveland for six years.
Mary was a 1936 graduate of Lorain High School. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain in the accounting/payroll department for eight years and then worked at Svete Travel and Insurance in Lorain in Home Owners and Auto Insurance for 20 years until her retirement.
Mary was a lifelong member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Lorain where she sung in the church choir. She was a member and past secretary of Immaculate Conception Lodge #885.
Mary could read, write and speak the Slovenian language. She enjoyed bowling and participated in area bowling leagues for over 50 years and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
She is survived by her son Frank (Anne) Sesek of Boise, Idaho, daughters Mary Jane (David) Larsen of Cleveland Heights and Kathy (Jeffrey) Denner of Columbus, son John (Mary Jane) Sesek of Garfield Heights, grandchildren Justin Sesek, Colin Sesek, Evan Sesek, Michael Larsen, Amelia Larsen, Laura Denner, Samuel Sesek and Sarah Sesek and brother Sebastian (Dorie) Soklić of Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Sesek in 1954, parents Frank & Johanna Soklich (nee Berk) and sister Jean Yelenc.
The family will receive friend Sunday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain, where the parish rosary will be prayed Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 1705 E. 31st St., Lorain. The Rev. Paul Krajnik, pastor, and the Rev. Joseph Yelenc, nephew of Mary, will concelebrate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
