Carolyn B. Bartish, 60, Member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church

Carolyn B. Bartish (nee Brandies), age 60, of Carlsbad, California, died unexpectedly on Friday May 9th while visiting relatives. She was born in Lorain on September 14, 1947 and was a graduate of Amherst Marion L. Steele High School.

Mrs. Bartish was the operator of an income tax and medical claims preparation service in California.

She was a parishioner of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Carlsbad. In her free time she enjoyed floral design and received great enjoyment by crafting floral crowns used in annual May crowning ceremonies. Additional interests included crocheting and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading with her favorite subject matter being related to the lives of Saints.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-nine years Greg, daughter Mrs. Vince (Ann Margaret) Brunkow of San Diego, California, son Christopher Bartish and his wife Hye Young residing in Ladera Ranch, California, grandchildren Alexa and Catrina Brunkow and Annie and Andrew Bartish, parents Edward and Ann (nee Yenchi) Brandies of Amherst Township, and her sister Andrea Brandies residing in Laurel, Maryland.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday May 15th at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria Township with the Reverend James Ols, pastor of the church presiding. Those attending are requested to gather directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

Carolyn was known for her deep Catholic Faith and for her love of God. At the time of her death, she requested that in lieu of flowers that you pray for all the souls currently in Purgatory.

The Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel of Lorain is handling funeral arrangements.
