Donald Lawrence Davis, 75, GM Retiree

Mr. Davis was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 2, 1933 and made his home in Elyria since 1964. He was a graduate of St. Charles Preparatory High School in Columbus in 1952 and a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in 1957 with a degree in business. He served with the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Mr. Davis was employed by General Motors for 31 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, the church’s Holy Name Society, and he served on the Finance Committee. He was a member of the Elyria Moose Club. He celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary by taking a Caribbean Cruise with his entire family over Christmas this year. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Andrea (Cheryl) (nee Tomb) of 50 years; one daughter, Lauren Davis of Columbus, Ohio; tow sons, Don (Nikki) Davis of Colfax, California and Stephen Davis of Vermilion, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Brenna of New London, Ohio. He is also survived by one brother, Paul I. Davis of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

He was preceded in death by one brother, William S. Davis in 2008 and his parents, Paul and Mary (nee Irwin) Davis.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035 on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Closing prayers at the funeral home will be Saturday at 9:30 A.M. followed by 10:00 A.M. mass at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.
