Thomas V. Meszes, 76, Avid Bowler & Golfer

Mr. Meszes was born on July 20, 1931 in Lynch, Kentucky and made his home in Elyria for most of his life. He was a graduate of Elyria High School with the class of 1949.

He was employed at General Motors, Fisher Body Plant as a tool and die maker for 20 years, retiring in 1981. He also established an engraving business, Golden Crescent Engraving. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He was a manager and coach of Little League North baseball when his sons played. Mr. Meszes was an avid bowler and golfer. He had a hole-in-one at Indian Hollow Golf Course.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy A. (nee Kaiser); two daughters, Marcia M. Meszes of Elyria and Sandy (Dave) Carlson of Cummings, Georgia; three sons, Gary (Barbara) Meszes and Michael (Lisa) Meszes both of Elyria and Craig Meszes of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandson. He is also survived by one sister, Margaret Nagy of Lorain.

Mr. Meszes was preceded in death by one son, David T. in 1996; one brother, Frank, Jr.; and his parents, Frank and Julia (nee Sedensky) Meszes.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035 on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral services will be on Friday at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home followed by mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035. The Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio.
