Catherine A. Zemanek, 80, Active in Holy Trinity Church Groups
Catherine A. Zemanek (nee Elenin), 80, of Lorain, died Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic.She was born April 30, 1928 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Catherine was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Ladies Guild, Rosary Society and Seniors Group. Many years back she helped clean the church. She was a member of St. Ann’s Lodge Br. 114 and enjoyed cooking, baking and line dancing that she learned at the Lorain Community Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughters Mrs. David (Kathleen) Wither of Cleveland and Karen Zemanek of Lorain, sons: Martin (Helen) Zemanek of Lorain, Gerald (Sharon) Zemanek of Imperial, Pennsylvania, Richard Zemanek of Stow, Jeffrey (Karen) Zemanek of Lorain, Dennis Zemanek of Lorain and Carl (Kathy) Zemanek of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sisters Dorothy Esposito and Betty Niemiec, both of Lorain and Mrs. Dennis (Marcy) Lamont of Wakeman and brother Carl (Jeanne) Elenin of Vermilion.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Zemanek in 1992, parents Carl and Mary Elenin (nee Martonchick) and brother Robert Elenin in 1962.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the Holy Trinity Rosary Society and St. Ann’s Lodge Br. 114 will recite the rosary Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2428 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Joseph L. Labak, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus in Wadsworth, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
