Angeline T. Palermo, 89, Founded Lorain County Beagle Club

Photo of Angeline T.  Palermo Angeline T. Palermo (nee Carrier), 89, of Lorain, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home in Amherst.

She was born June 25, 1918 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

As a youth Angeline worked at the popcorn stand next to the Palace Theater on Broadway in Lorain. During World War II she worked as a crane operator at US Steel in Lorain and later worked at Nelson Stud Welding. Later she worked at Nicoloff’s Grocery Store in Lorain.

Along with her husband Philip they founded the Lorain County Beagle Club and she served as its secretary for many years.

Angeline was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain. She enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching.

She is survived by her son Ross Palermo and his wife Susan of Amherst, grandsons Brandon Palermo and his wife Brittnay of Lorain, Brett Palermo and Andrew Palermo, and great grandson Rocco Palermo.

She was preceded in death by her husband Philip Palermo in 1987, parents Frank & Mary Carrier (nee Nardona) and brothers James, Pat, and John Carrier.

Private family services will be held. The Rev. Joseph West, OFM Conv., pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
