Matilda "Tillie" Dougan, 94, Active in Church Groups

Matilda “Tillie” Dougan (nee Lukesic), 94, of Lorain, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home.

Tillie was born March 14, 1914 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

She was a longtime member of St. Vitus Catholic Church in Lorain, a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain, St. Theresa’s Guild, St. Anthony Marian Guild, Senior Sociables and AARP #399.

Tillie volunteered at the Lorain Senior Center on Garfield Blvd making arts and crafts.

She is survived by her daughter Bernadine Cisarik of Lambertville, Michigan, son James J. Dougan and his wife Becky of Elyria, grandchildren Timothy Dougan and wife Stephanie of North Ridgeville, Michael Dougan and wife Holly of South Amherst, Mrs. Michael (Christine) Grote of Elyria and Andrew Dougan of Elyria, great grandchildren Owen, Lydia and Maxwell Dougan. She was preceded in death by her husband John Dougan in 1989, parents Thomas and Katherine Lukesic (nee Stanislawski) and son-in-law Val Cisarik.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 25, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the St. Anthony Marian Guild will recite the rosary Sunday at 5:00 p.m. The family will also receive friends on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Joseph West, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
