Eupheme G. Kish, 91, Retired Bookkeeper

She was born June 14, 1917 in Lackawanna, New York, moved to Fairport Harbor, Ohio at the age of 3 and to Lorain in 1925.
Eupheme graduated from Lorain High School with the class of 1934 B. In later years she was employed as an office manager at Dunlaps Bridal & Dress Shop in the Sheffield Center and then in the Auditing Department at the Lorain Journal.
She was a member of the Knights of St. John #46 Championship Drill Team and served as its President for 15 years retiring in 1966.
Eupheme was a former member of St. Mary’s Church where she served as a Lector & Eucharistic Minister. She also worked at St. Mary’s School as a first grade teacher’s aide for 12 years retiring in 1992. Eupheme was also a member of St. Peter Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Senior Organization.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, tatting, ceramics, cross-stitch, Scrabble and crossword puzzles. She was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns.
She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Mark (Marlene) Mroz of Amherst, daughter-in-law Pamela Kish of Mattawan, Michigan, grandsons Bret Kacher and wife Anita of Amherst, Todd Kacher of Amherst and Greg Kish and wife Kristen of Traverse City, Michigan, great grandchildren Noah Cruz of Amherst and Amelia Kish of Traverse City, Michigan, sister Virginia Krupski of Lorain and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband David Dash Kish in 1993, son Richard Kish in 2005, father Paul Sova in 1967, mother Annette Sova (nee Janik) in 1961, brothers Richard Sova in 1961 and Bernard Sova in 1995.
The family will receive friends Monday 6-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Chuck Henkle, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
