Connie E. Barnicle, 50, Worked at Kohl's in Avon, Enjoyed Traveling

Photo of Connie E.  Barnicle Connie E. Barnicle, 50, of Lorain, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a 4-year illness with cancer.

She was born August 25, 1957 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Connie graduated from Lorain High School in 1975. She worked at Kohl’s Department Store in Avon for 5 years as a stock person. Prior to that she worked at the YMCA in Lorain as a day care aide and bus driver for 5 years.

Connie earned her CDL license and had aspired to drive a charter bus and travel once her children were older. She enjoyed traveling, being outside, camping, dancing and attending her children and grandchildren’s school and sports functions. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lorain.

She is survived by her children Jason Barnicle, Robyn Cisar, Justin Cisar, Cassandra Cisar and Emily Cisar, all of Lorain, grandchildren Jason Barnicle, Jr, Shelby Barnicle and Skylar Barnicle, all of Lorain, mother Sylvia Barnicle-Hambly (nee Reed) of Amherst, sisters Diane Vondrasek and husband Dennis of Strongsville, Coleen Falbo and husband John of Lorain and Cynthia Waters and husband Kevin of Amherst, brothers Christopher Barnicle and wife Melanie of Amherst and Chad Barnicle and wife Becky of Sebring, Florida, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Donald Barnicle in 1990, paternal grandparents Charles and Irene Barnicle and maternal grandparents Wilbert and Luella Reed.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 2-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 310 8th St., Lorain. The Rev. Daniel O. Divis, pastor, will officiate. Cremation will follow and her ashes will be interred next to her father at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain at a later date.
