Eugene A. "Gene" Sullivan, 87, Career Railroader

Photo of Eugene A. Eugene A. "Gene" Sullivan, 87 of Lorain died peacefully on Tuesday evening, August 26, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Sullivan was born in Bellevue, OH on August 6, 1921, the son of the late Raymond T and Louise (nee Stoltz) Sullivan. He was a graduate of Norwalk High School: a member of the class of 1940. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II.

He was a career railroader, retiring as a brakeman and conductor for the Lake Terminal Railroad in Lorain. He also worked for the Nickle Plate Railroad and Pennsylvannia (Pennsy) Railroad.

Mr. Sullivan is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty J. (nee Kneisel) Sullivan, daughters Patricia A. DeBracy, Nancy G. (James) Molas both of Lorain, Pegi E. (Daniel) Gerbick of Avon Lake, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a brother William R. Sullivan of Tucson, Arizona.

In addition to his parents, hew was preceded in death by an infant daughter Kathleen L Sullivan and a brother Patrick M Sullivan.

Services were private with burial at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp, Ohio.
