Mangus Dotson, 61, Master Gardner
Mangus Dotson 61 of Elyria passed away Friday August 29, 2008 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph residence center in Lorain following a three year battle with cancer.He was born September 15, 1946 in Phelps, KY. Moving to Elyria with his family and residing her the rest of his life.
He was employed at LTV Steel in Elyria for over 30 years till retiring in 1997. He was a master gardner and spent most of his time gardening and being outside with his beloved dogs Spike, Sassy and Betty Sue.
He is survived by sons: Matthew and Mark Dotson, daughter: Sheila Dotson, sisters: Janice Witbeck of Lorain, Madeline Smith of WV, brothers Clyde Dotson of Cleveland, Lee Dotson of Wakeman, Ival Dotson of Lorain, Charles Dotson of Lorain, Enoch Dotson of Amherst, Oral Dotson of WV, and half brother Virgil Dotson of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie W. and Pearl (nee Wolford) Dotson, sisters: Eunice Dotson and Vadie Steel, brother: Holly Dotson.
Friends may call Tuesday September 2, 2008 10:00 a.m. till the time of service at 12:00 noon at Wyers Funeral Chapel 2900 North Ridge Rd. in Sheffield Twp.
Sister Rita Costello Chaplin at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph will officiate.
Another visitation will be Wednesday September 3, 2008 10:00 a.m. till the time of service at 12:00 noon at Phelps Funeral Service in Phelps KY. Burial will follow in Dotson Cemetery in Phelps KY.
