Juan D. Torres Sr., 63, Enjoyed Playing Pool
Juan D. Torres, Sr. 63 of Lorain died Saturday, September 6, 2008 in University Hospital, Cleveland following a brief illness.
He was born June 24, 1945 in Lares, Puerto Rico. He was a resident since coming here as a child.
Mr. Torres retired as a cook in January of this year from ARAMARK in Brookpark. He worked there for 30 years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. He enjoyed playing pool, working on cars, cooking Spanish food. He loved to spend time with his family and friends.
He will be missed by his wife Marilyn (nee Hall) Torres of Lorain, sons Juan Domingo Luciano (Jessica) Torres, Jr., of Grande Prairie, TX, Francisco M.(Megan) Torres of Lorain and Robert G. Hall of Lorain, daughters Mary L. (David) Cortes of Lorain and Wanda (William) Plato of Spencer, W. VA.; mother Theresa Torres of Lorain; brothers Wilfredo Torres of Lorain and Joseph Torres of Cleveland; sisters Carmen Rivera, Frances Torres, Bienvenida Santiago all of Lorain, Nilda Rau of Deerfield. MI, Elizabeth Quinones of Columbia Station and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Francisco L. Torres and a brother Oscar Torres.
His family will receive friends Tues. Sept., 9 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440) 277-8164. Funeral services will be Wed. Sept., 10 with closing prayers in the funeral home at 8:45 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 AM in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. William A. Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Juan Torres Memorial Fund at any First Merit Bank.
