Zachary Thomas Gott, 12, Enjoyed Playing Piano and Reading

Photo of Zachary Thomas Gott Zachary Thomas Gott, 12, of Lorain, died Sunday September 14, 2008 from injuries sustained from a tree limb falling on him.

He was born April 27, 1996 in Fairview Park and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.

Zach was a 6th grade student at St. Peter Elementary School in Lorain where he played on the CYO basketball team and played drums in the band. A member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain, he regularly served weekend mass.

Zach played Lorain Youth Baseball and was a member of Boy Scout Troop #139 in Elyria. He bowled at Rebman Recreation in Lorain in the IAV youth league and qualified to bowl in the Pepsi youth state tournament in Columbus. He was a talented piano player, an avid reader, enjoyed playing his Nintendo Wii video games and spending time with his cousins and friends.

He is survived by his parents Thomas and Audrey Gott (nee Vyka), sister Julia Gott, maternal grandparents Frank and Aldine Vyka of Lorain, paternal grandfather Ed Gott and wife Diana of Wellington, maternal grandmother Charlene Brumfield and husband Ernie of Winterhaven, Florida, aunts and uncles Lori and Mike Zaworski of Amherst, Susan and Tim Lombardi of Lorain, Michele and Miguel Gonzalez of Lorain, Julie and Konrad Kaeding of Wilmington, Delaware and Jessica Gott of Wellington and cousins Lisa Zaworski, Joseph Zaworski, Angela Ritchey, Allison Lombardi, Madelyn Gonzalez, Amelia Kaeding, Madeline Kaeding, Thomas Kaeding and Gracie Kaeding.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the church. The Rev. Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor and the Rev. Chuck Henkle, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
