Norma Jean Blakinsop, 78, Family Was Her Passion

Norma Jean Blankinsop (nee Grimm), 78 of Wakeman, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, following a sudden illness.

She was born January 1, 1930 in Washington, Pennsylvania and has lived in Wakeman for the past 35 years, moving from Lorain.

Raising her 6 children and making a home for her husband and family was her passion. Among the many remembrances shared by her family was her loving care given to each child and grandchild, her selflessness in helping someone in need, her talent and ability in crafting and the way she spread joy during the Christmas season.

She is survived by her husband of almost 58 years, Robert L. Blankinsop, Sr., daughters, Susan Dreger of Avon and Nancy Learmonth of Wakeman; sons, John R. Blankinsop of N. Fairfield, David Blankinsop of Clearmont, Florida, Bill Blankinsop of Berlin Heights and Donald Blankinsop of Greenwich; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers, Flo, Chuck, George and Albert Grimm and sisters, Peggy Earlywine and Bobbie Ann Moore.

She was preceded-in-death by an infant son, Robert Lee Blankinsop, Jr., parents, James and Alice (nee Baggus) Grimm, brothers, James and Wilbur Grimm and sisters, Libby, Sally, Edna and Millie.

Friends may call Monday September 22, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held on Tuesday September 23, 2008 at 11:00 am. The Reverend Matt Jones, pastor of Broadway Assembly in Lorain, will officiate. Interment will follow in Florence Township Cemetery.
