Jerery K. Teets, Sr., 56, REP Ladle Coordinator

Jerry K. Teets, Sr., age 56, of Lorain, died unexpectedly at his residence on Friday September 26, 2008.

Jerry was born in Lorain on November 21, 1951 and remained a life-long resident of the city. He was a 1970 graduate of Lorain High School.

Following his graduation, Jerry was inducted into the United States Army; he fulfilled duty assignments as a Specialist 4 attached to the Border Legion of the 1st Squadron of the 11th Armored Calvary in Germany during the Viet Nam Conflict.

He was the recipient of the National Service Defense Medal and also held certification as a Marksman with the M16 rifle.

He was employed as a Ladle Coordinator for Republic Engineered Products in Lorain and had served the steel industry for thirty-three years. He was currently a member of United Steelworkers Local # 1104.

In his free time Mr. Teets enjoyed fishing and boating. He was a member of the Beaver Park Yacht Club.

He is survived by his wife of sixteen years Rebecca (nee Smith), sons Jerry Teets, Jr., Michael, and Bradley, by daughters Tanya, and Lacey, by his mother Bonnie Jean Ellis (nee Hess), by his sister Carol Robinson, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Carl Teets.

Friends may call Tuesday September 30, 2008 from 1:00 p.m.until time of memorial services at 2:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. The officers and members of Louis Paul Proy Chapter # 20 of the Disabled American Veterans will conduct military honors at the conclusion of services. Private burial will take place later in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
