Richard L. Schroeder, 88, Retired Fisher Foods Produce Manager

Mr. Schroeder was born in Lorain on April 30, 1920 and had been a resident of the city for most of his life.

A graduate of Lorain High School, he was a member of United Food and Commercial Workers Local # 880. Richard was employed as a produce manager for the Fisher Foods and Fazio’s Grocery Stores throughout the area. He retired on May 7, 1983.

He was a parishioner of Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lorain. In his free time he enjoyed working in his yard.

He is survived by a son Jack Schroeder residing in Crumpler, North Carolina, by daughters Sue Colburn of Northwest, North Carolina, and Lola Spurgeons of Titusville, Florida, three grandchildren, and his sister Frances Ehman of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard H. and Florence (nee Wohlever) Schroeder.

Visitation will be Wednesday October 1, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Daniel O. Divis, Pastor of Saint Maryof the Lake Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
