Pauline M. Shaffer, 78, Enjoyed Flower and Vegetable Gardening
Pauline M. Shaffer, (nee Zapolski), age 78, of Lorain, died unexpectedly at her residence on Monday September 29th. She was born in Lorain on July 21st, 1930 and had been a life-long resident of the city.Pauline graduated from Clearview High School. She was most recently employed as a production team member for Reliance Com Tec of Lorain as well as its predecessor, Lorain Products. She had previously been employed as an assembler for the Mascon Toy Company.
Ms. Shaffer was a parishioner of Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lorain. She was an avid football fan and ardent follower of the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as the Cleveland Browns.
In her free time she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and casino junkets.
She is survived by her brother Kenneth C. Zapolski (Patricia) of Lorain, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Walter Zapolski in 1963, by her mother Emma (nee Nagy) Zapolski in 2005, and by her sister Marcella White.
Please join her family for the celebration of a funeral mass Friday October 3rd at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 310 8th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Daniel O. Divis, Pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
