Dorothy A. Mason, 76, Enjoyed Spending Time with Family
Dorothy A. Mason (nee Kotulak), 76, of Lorain, died Tuesday October 14, 2008 at her home after a brief illness.She was born December 2, 1931 in Cleveland and had resided in Lorain since 1957.
Dorothy received her high school diploma from St. Procop School in Cleveland. She worked as a clerk/typist at Bingham Inc. in Cleveland and at US Steel in Lorain before retiring.
She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and doing word search puzzles. She was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, Cavaliers and Ohio State Buckeyes.
She is survived by her son Dean Mason with whom she made her home in Lorain, son Dennis Mason and wife Bonnie of Cleveland, grandchildren Mollie Mason and Andrew Mason, sister-in-law Charlotte Kotulak of Parma and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean A. Mason in 1968, parents Josef & Dorothy Kotulak and siblings Anna (Paul) Laheta, Joseph (Elizabeth) Kotulak, John Kotulak, Andrew Kotulak, Helen (Daniel) Moran, Marie (Joe) Simon, William Kotulak, Gertrude Kotulak, Martin Kotulak and Edward Kotulak in infancy.
The family will receive friends Friday 4-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Paschal Petcavage, associate pastor of Assumption Catholic Church in Broadview Heights, Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor of Nativity BVM Catholic Church, Rev. John Kline, pastor emeritus of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and Rev. Mr. Robert Dybo, deacon of Nativity BVM Catholic Church, will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
