Jean A. Leach, 54, Published Three Books
Jean A. Leach (nee Jaworski), 54, of Lorain, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at her home after battling cancer.She was born November 4, 1953 in Lorain and had resided in Lorain most of her life. She had also lived in Florida and Michigan.
Jean published 3 books. One was titled Oh My Goodness It Happened To Me My Journey With Cancer that gave an account of her illness and her battle against it. The other 2 books were picture books displaying her joy of photography.
While living in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jean served as the treasurer for Kalamazoo Township and served on the board of the library.
She enjoyed traveling, photography, crocheting and taking care of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 7 years Ken Leach, children Jeremy Alvarado, Adam Alvarado and Jessica Alvarado, all of Lorain, Jake Leach of Marshall, Michigan, Kim Jeneary of Port Clinton, Kristie Pastor of Lansing, Michigan and Kandice Stoneking of Newark, 12 grandchildren, mother Angeline Jaworski (nee Sofra) of Lorain, sisters Linda Grasso of Palm Beach, Florida and Karen Szymusiak of Sunbury and brother Ralph Jaworski of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her father Ralph Jaworski in 2006.
The family will receive friends Monday from 10:30 am until the time of prayer services at 11:30 am at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. A funeral mass will be held Monday at 12:00 noon at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officiate.
