Carmen M. Cortes, 54, Loved Spending Time with Family & Friends
Carmen M. Cortes, 54, of Lorain died Thursday, October 16, 2008 Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a heart attack wile shopping.
She was born November 27, 1953 in Utuado, Puerto Rico. She came to Lorain in 1979.
Carmen was a loving and caring mother who loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain.
Carmen received a pancreas and kidney transplant in October 2006 and had been doing well since.
She will be missed by her daughters Carmen E., Viviana and Luiselle "Coco" Perez all of Lorain; her brothers Berto Cortes of Boston, Guillo Cortes of Passaic, New Jersey, Papo, Freddy and Tony Cortes all of Lorain; sisters Gloria Cortes of Passaic, New Jersey, Glicy and Jeanette Cortes both of Utuado, Puerto Rico; and her grandchildren Ariana, Nelson, Nazaryah and Derrick all of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her parents Santos Cortes and Gloria Rivera and a sister Luz Denis Cortes.
Carmen's family will receive friends Monday, October 20, 2008, from 4 until time of funeral service at 7 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio. Rev. Mr. Deacon of Sacred Heart Church Lorain will officiate.
