Emma L. Balogh, 90, St. Ladislaus Altar & Rosary Society Member

Emma L. Balogh, (nee Puskas), age 90, of Sheffield Township, died Thursday October 16, 2008 at the Altercare of Wadsworth following an extended illness.

Mrs. Balogh was born in Lorain on July 13, 1918. She graduated from Saint Ladislaus Parochial School, and went on to attend Clearview High School.

A devout homemaker, Emma was a parishioner of Saint Ladislaus Catholic Church in Lorain and was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society there.

In her free time she enjoyed square dancing and participating in activities with the Salvation Army Keenagers.

She is survived by her son Dennis and his wife Theresa (nee Taylor) residing in Norton, Ohio, by granddaughter Megan Slater and her husband Dominic residing in North Canton, and by great grandsons Dominic and Corbin Slater.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband Eugene J. Balogh in 1983, by her father George Puskas in 1960, by her mother Elizabeth (Nee Nemeth) Puskas in 1984, by brothers George Puskas, and James Puskas, and by sisters Elizabeth Pasta and Barbara Dorsett.

Friends may call Tuesday October 21st from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday October 22nd in the funeral chapelat 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend James Schmitz, Pastor of Saint Ladislaus Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
