Robert R. Wagner Sr., 69, Enjoyed Fishing and Woodworking
Robert R. Wagner, Sr., 69, of Lorain, died Friday October 31, 2008 in the emergency room at Community Health Partners Hospital in Lorain after a lengthy illness.He was born September 30, 1939 in Wheeling, West Virginia and had resided in Lorain since 1966 moving from Wheeling.
Robert served with the US Army during the Vietnam War as a SP4. He worked for the city of Avon Lake as a heavy equipment mechanic in the Service Department retiring in 1995.
Robert served as Assistant Scout Master for Troop 331 in Lorain while his sons were in boy scouts. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, working with his hands, music and spending time with his grandchildren. He was very creative and came up with many ideas.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Patricia (nee Criswell), son Robert R. Wagner, Jr. and wife Gloria of Smithfield, North Carolina, daughters Cynthia Wagner of Lorain and Mrs. John (Pamela) Tyler of Carol Stream, Illinois, son Scott Wagner and wife Nicole of Avon Lake, grandchildren: Robert Drew Wagner, Alicia Wagner, Robert Tyler Wagner, Rebecca Tyler, Jacob Tyler, Ciera Wagner, Camryn Wagner, Christie DeToro, James Tyler, Eric Tyler, Matthew Tyler, Anthony Sofia and Christopher Sofia, great grandchild Alexis DeToro and brother James Wagner of Orlando, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Catherine Wagner (nee Mozingo), brother Lee Bud Wagner and sister Margaret Wagner.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township where the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 of Lorain will conduct military honors.
