Borys Kaluszyk, Musician

Photo of Borys  Kaluszyk Borys Kaluszyk, formerly of Sheffield Village, died Sunday, November 9th, 2008. A native of Ukraine, Borys immigrated to the United States in 1950.

He belonged to the Ukrainian National Association and was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lorain. He was a retiree of the U.S. Steel Corporation where he worked as a pipe cutter for 32 years. He was a great friend, musician, and lover of nature.

Survivors include his wife, Kateryna Kaluszyk(nee Butrej) of Rocky River; sons, Pete Kaluszyk (Diane) and Boris Kaluszyk (Anastasia); daughters, Stephanie Korth (Tom), Olga Kaluszyk, Irene Wlaszyn
(Victor), and Alexandra Kaluszyk; grandchildren, Andrea Wlaszyn, Michael Wlaszyn, Nicholas Wlaszyn, Larissa Korth, Mykola Kaluszyk, Jennifer Clark, and Matthew Gillette; and great grandchildren, Remy Clark and Anna Gillette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Petro and Maria (nee Vakulych) and three siblings (Halyna, Kateryna, and Mykola).

A Divine Liturgy will be Thursday, November, 13, 2008 at 11:00AM in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church East 31st and Charleston Avenue, Lorain. Rev.Fr. Steven M. Paliwoda, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 3038 Charleston Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44055.
