Roberto Matos, 49, Enjoyed Music and Movies
Roberto Chiqui Matos, 49, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008 in his home.
He was born February 18, 1959 in Chicago. He came to Lorain in 1992. While in Chicago, he worked as a home building, remodeling carpenter and in restaurant kitchens and cleaning.
Mr. Matos was a member of Iglesia Casa De Oracion, Lorain. He was active in Christian ministry, visiting prisons and nursing homes. He enjoyed music, movies and playing basketball.
Among the survivors are his wife of 12 years Devora Matos (nee Colon-Marrero); daughter Adinia Matos of Chicago; stepsons Edgar Otero of Lorain, Ramon, Cesar, David and Emanuel Pedraza all of Lorain; his Mother Carmen Sanchez of Ciales, Puerto Rico; brother Angel Matos of Lorain; sisters Carmen and Evelyn Matos both of Chicago, Linilda Lopez of Lorain, Mayra Lopez of Ciales, Puerto Rico and Lysette Vega of Chicago, several grandchildren and several brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico.
He was preceded in death by his father Roberto Matos and a sister Maria Matos.
His family will receive friends Wed. Dec. 17 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. in the Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal Ebenezer, 3660 Globe Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Jose Santos pastor of Iglesia Casa De Oracion will officiate. Burial will follow Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
