Helen Seiling, 100, Parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church
Helen Seiling (nee Zalog), age 100, of Lorain, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday December 2nd. She was born on March 10, 1908 in Wickhaven, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Lorain since 1920.A graduate of the Elyria Business College, Mrs. Seiling was an active parishioner of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church as well as a member of its Altar & Rosary Society.
Survivors include sisters Pauline Baxley of Spokane, Washington, Magdelene Baumann of Compton, California, Ann Keevil of Leucadia California, brothers Daniel of Naples, Florida and Paul of Boca Raton Florida, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1989, by sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Gerrick and Marie Zboray, and by brothers Victor and Albert.
The Divine Liturgy will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th Street, Lorain. Those attending are requested to gather at the church. The Reverend Nicholas Rachford will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
