Robert A. Lee, 84, Enjoyed Boating and Sailing
Robert A. Lee, 84, of Lorain entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph in Lorain following a brief illness.Mr. Lee was born in Lorain on March 31, 1924, the son of the late Ernest A and Virginia E. (nee Eby) Lee.
He was a graduate of the Carson Long Military Academy, New Bloomfield, PA. He served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during both WW II and the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Lee was a member of First Congregational Church in Lorain and was a retired carpenter from US Steel in Lorain with 30 years service. He was owner/operator of the former Lee Marine Sales, Riverside Marina and Hot Waters Marina. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union and enjoyed boating and sailing, sports, and traveling between Florida and Ohio.
Mr. Lee is survived by a daughter Peggy Kalister of Avon, sons Andrew (JoAnn) Lee of Wakeman, Tim (Debbie) Lee of Lake Orion, MI, Rev. Tom (Rev Therese) Lee of Kansas City, MO, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a sister Virginia Donnelly of Medina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean S. (nee Thomas) Lee in 2002 and a granddaughter, Allison Anne in 1981.
Friends may call Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration Of Life in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, with Rev. Therese Lee, his daughter-in-law, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
