Bogdan Bukovac, 62, Enjoyed Fishing and Hunting
Bogdan Bukovac, 62, of Lorain died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
He was born June 16, 1946 in Zrnok, Croatia. He immigrated to Lorain 40 years ago in 1968.
Mr. Bukovac worked for Nick’s Auto Body in Avon for over 20 years then worked for Joe Firment Chevrolet Body Shop. He also worked at Tops for seven years and Giant Eagle in Amherst until this October.
Mr. Bukovac was a member of Saint Vitus Croatian Catholic Church, Lorain and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, working in his garden and word search puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years Svetlana (nee Noskova) Bukovac of Lorain; sons Jimmy and Michael Bukovac both of Lorain; a daughter Diana Bukovac of Lorain; sisters Drageca Rajsel of Lorain and Stanka Habijanec of Croatia; and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Josip and Polonia (nee Kovac) Bukovac; brothers Anton Bukovac, Josip Bukovac, twin brother Drago Bukovac; sisters Jelka Grosel and Maria Diklic.
His family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164 where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Funeral services will be Friday with closing prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Vitus Croatian Catholic Church, 1793 East 32nd Street, Lorain. The Reverend Father Simon Nekic, Pastor will officiate.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain Ohio.
