Helen Livingston, 83, Enjoyed Spending Time with Grandchildren
Helen Livingston (nee Pauley), age 83, of Lorain, died Wednesday Dec. 17, 2008 at Community Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.Helen was born in Greenup, Kentucky on January 17, 1925 and had been a resident of Lorain for the past sixty-five years.
A parishioner of Saint John Roman Catholic Church in Lorain, she was most recently employed as a stewardess for the American Croatian Club of Lorain. She had previously been employed for more than thirty years in a similar capacity with Amvets Post # 47 and had also formerly been employed as an assembler with the Mascon Toy Company from which she retired with over twenty years of service.
Mrs. Livingston was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of both Amvets Post # 47 and American Legion Post # 30. She assisted in the organization of picnics and other gatherings for the Amvets club and was also an avid bowler in leagues hosted by Rebman’s Recreation and the American Croatian Club.
In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going on gambling junkets.
Helen is survived by her husband of twenty-three years Dale, by daughter Michele Reaser and her husband Roger of Lorain, by grandson Roger Reaser and his wife Sherry residing in Avon, by granddaughter Erica Wiegand and her husband Rob of Amherst, by great granddaughters Emily and Sarah Wiegand, and Cassidy and Kaitlyn Reaser, by her brother Jack Pauley of Greenup, Kentucky, and by sisters Barbara Klein of Wakeman, Thelma White of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Betty Bays of Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by her son Michael Tarring in 2007, by a step-daughter Donna in 2008, and sister Frances Pauley.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday December 22nd at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Thomas R. Smith, pastor of Saint John Roman Catholic Church presiding. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
