Menka Stamco, 88, Loved Entertaining
Menka Stamco (nee Miloshoff), 88, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina following a brief illness.
She was a resident of Lorain until 2003, at which time she moved to Lexington, South Carolina to live with her daughter.
She was born in Macedonia, and came to the United States at an early age.
Mrs. Stamco was a member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, Lorain and the churches’ Sisterhood. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who loved entertaining.
Survivors include her daughter Vivien Ottney of Lexington; daughter in law Janice Samco of Amherst: grandchildren, Jeff Ottney of Titusville, PA, Tony Stamco of Lagrange, Scott Stamco of Lorain and Nicole Benko of Lorias , SC. Also surviving are her great grandchildren Ryan Ottney, Brandon, Kaylie, and Lindsay Stamco, and Corey and Cameron Stamco.
She was preceded her in death by her husband of 60 years, George Stamco in 1998 and son Phillip Stamco in 1988, her parents Mitre and Nika Miloshoff, brother Pete Miloshoff and a sister Stella Miloshoff.
Her family will receive friends on Friday Jan. 9th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in Richard Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st St., South Lorain (440) 277-8164. Funeral services will be Saturday Jan. 10th at 10 a.m. at Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, Meister and Reeves Ave in Lorain. Rev. Fr. Paul Monkowski, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
