Anna M. Sabo, 86, Devoted Wife and Mother

Photo of Anna M. Sabo Anna M. Sabo, (nee Mozak), age 86, of Elyria Township, died Tuesday Jan. 27, 2009 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following an extended illness.

Anna was born in Sagamore, Pennsylvania on June 10, 1922 and had been a resident of Elyria Township since 1945; she had previously resided in Lorain for twenty years.

Mrs. Sabo was formerly employed as an assembler at Western Automatic during World War II. She was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township whose interests included her church and her family.

Survivors include her sons Alex J. Sabo, III of Elyria, Paul S. and Daniel J. Sabo both of Elyria Township, and Joseph J. Sabo of LaGrange, along with seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister Margaret Strzelecki of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alex J. Sabo, Jr. in 1992, by her parents Paul and Ann (nee Pachan) Mozak, by a brother Paul, and by sisters Helen Timko, Irene Waraksa, and Marie Machovina.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday Jan. 30th beginning with closing prayers offered in the funeral chapel at 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by the celebration of a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Rd., Elyria Township with the Reverend James Ols presiding. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family encourages memorial contributions to either New Life Hospice or to the Activities Fund at Amherst Manor Nursing Home.
