Keith W. Chonko, 53, Enjoyed Water Sports

Photo of Keith W. Chonko Keith W. Chonko, age 53, of Lorain, died Sunday Feb. 1st, 2009 following an extended illness.

He was born in Bay Village, Ohio on July 22, 1955 and had been a life-long resident of Lorain.

A graduate of Admiral King High School, Keith was most recently employed as a Coating Technician for Precision Industrial Coatings of Amherst. He had previously been employed as an industrial painter for the American Bridge Corporation.

Mr. Chonko was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lorain as well as the American-Croatian Club of Lorain; his hobbies included water sports, motorcycle riding, fishing, and gardening.

Survivors include his parents Donald F. and Ruth E. (nee Perrault) Chonko of Lorain, by his daughter Kelly Sabo (Seth) of Bay Village, by grandson Tristen Sabo of Bay Village, brother Howard F. Chonko of Lorain, sisters Susan (Joseph) Wengryniuk of Woodstock, Georgia and Stephanie (Victor) Takacs of Lorain, along with six nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be observed at 7 p.m. with the Reverend Dr. Linwood H. Chamberlain, Jr. officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Keith's memory to the The First Evangelical Church of Lorain.
