Charles "Chuck" Vitelli, 54, Avid Boxing Fan

Charles “Chuck” Vitelli, 54, passed away Feb. 2, 2009 at his residence in Lorain after a lengthy illness.

Chuck was born Nov. 17, 1954 in Lorain, a son of John and Phyllis (nee: Telloni) Vitelli.

He was raised in Lorain and graduated form Admiral King High School in 1973 and is a graduate of Lorain County Community College.

Chuck was known to many as “Pizza Man” having worked at Yala’s Pizzaria for several years. He was active in city affairs, having run for 3rd ward council in the 1980’s. Chuck was an avid boxing fan and loved the Cleveland Browns.

He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Vitelli of Lorain; brothers, John (Pat) of Elyria and Tom (Bev) of Lorain; sisters, Julianne Vitelli of Sheffield Lake and Regina Nemeth of Elyria; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Bella.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, John in 1975.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961 on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009 from 4 - 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:20 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at St. Peter Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Fr. Chuck Henkle, O.F.M. Conv., officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
