August J. Argenti, 60, Loved Spending Time with Children & Grandchildren

Sonny was born March 5, 1948 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Yolanda and the late Peter Argenti, Sr.
Sonny graduated from Clearview High School in 1966 and worked for the family business Argenti Masonry - for over 30 years. After running the business for 16 years, Sonny began his teaching career at Lorain County JVS where he was the Masonry Trades Instructor for the last 11 years.
Throughout his life, Sonny was involved in many activities. He bowled for many years in the IAV League and was an avid golfer for the IAV and Knights of Columbus. Sonny was a dedicated teacher who took pride in his students and enjoyed taking them to various vocational competitions around the U.S.
Outside of the work he loved, Sonny was a devoted husband and father and spent many years coaching his son’s baseball and football teams. Sonny’s greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 40 years Patricia Argenti (nee Pawlak), 5 children Rene Argenti-Reinker (Bob), Lisa Argenti, Cheryl Argenti, Michael Argenti (Madeline - nee Roesel) and Joseph Argenti (fiancé Monica Roesel). He was a proud Papa to 12 grandchildren. Sonny is also survived by his mother Yolanda Argenti (nee Piscione), sisters Gloria Hobor (Chuck) of Lorain, Linda Ditto (Ron) of Tiffin and Tina Argenti and brother Peter Argenti, Jr. (Karen) of Amherst. He was preceded in death by his father Peter Argenti, Sr.
The family will receive friends Sunday 6 - 9 p.m. and Monday 4 - 8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd., Elyria Township. The Rev. James Ols, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
