Donna D. Porter, 48, Diehard Cleveland Browns Fan

Photo of Donna D. Porter Donna D. Porter, age 48, of Lorain, died Monday Feb. 9, 2009 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following an extended illness.

Donna was born in Lorain on April 13, 1960 and was a graduate of Southview High School as a member of the Class of 1978.

For the past ten years she had been employed by the Invacare Corporation of Elyria; she had previously been employed for fifteen years in the receiving department at the Hills Department Store in Elyria.

Donna was known for being a diehard fan of the Cleveland Browns; she was also a fan of NASCAR and enjoyed following the accomplishments of driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Additional interests included camping and motorcycle riding as well as watching the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indians.

Survivors include her twin sister Denise Porter of Lorain, life partner Terri Holmes also of Lorain, her beloved dogs Bonney and Emmitt, and numerous aunt, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Darlene (nee Blazina) Porter.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Elder Frank Blazina of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints presiding. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
