Randy F. DiVirgilio, 55, Competitive Power Lifter

He was a graduate of Admiral King High School in 1972. In high school, he wrestled and played softball.
Mr. DiVirgilio retired as a fork lift operator last November from the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant, Louisville and the Ohio Assembly Plant, Avon Lake. He was also a Firefighter in Lorain and in Kingman, Arizona.
He was a foster father for many with the 12 Incorporated, Elyria. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 2000, Sheffield Village, and the Seeds of Abraham Motorcycle Ministry of Kentucky and Indiana. Mr. DiVirgilio was a competitive power lifter.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 5 years Diane (nee Kotnick) DiVirgilio; sons Lloyd Boggs of Great Falls, Montana, Aaron Boggs of Des Moines, Iowa, Randy L. DiVirgilio of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughters Tina Meade of North Ridgeville, Danielle DiVirgilio of Atlanta, Georgia and Brittani Schmidt of Taylorville, Kentucky; parents Frederick J. and Lena J. (nee Contini) DiVirgilio of Lorain; Frederick DiVirgilio of Lorain; sister Sandy DiVirgilio of Fla.; 12 grandchildren and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Michael and Edith DiVirgilio; maternal grandparents John and Margaret Contini; uncles James DiVirgilio, Vincent Contini, Tony Perchinsky and Edward Anderson.
His family will receive friends Sunday, March 1, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. Where Closing Prayers will be Monday, March 2, at 9 a.m. and will be followed by the celebration of his funeral mass at 10 a.m. in the Catholic Church of Saint Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Fr. Charles Henkle, O.F.M. Conv., Associate Pastor of the parish will officiate.
