Theresa Papajcik, 96, Enjoyed Travel and Bingo

Photo of Theresa  Papajcik Theresa Papajcik, age 96, of Lorain, died Sunday March 1, 2009 at the Autumn Aegis Care Center following an extended illness.

Miss Papajcik was born in Lorain on Nov. 18, 1912 and had been a life-long resident of the city.

Theresa was employed in the laundry of the former Saint Joseph Hospital for more than thirty-five years. Following her retirement she maintained her relationship with the hospital by serving as a volunteer in the gift shop there.

She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain and was a member of St. Ann’s Fraternal Lodge Branch # 114. Her hobbies included travel and attending local bingo games.

Survivors include her sister-in-law Catherine Papajcik (nee Turon) of Mentor, niece Carole McKnight (husband Robert) of Painesville, and nephew Robert Papajcik (wife Jeanette) of Beavercreek, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Papajcik, Sr. in 1976, by her mother Tresa (nee Turbeck) Papajcik in 1982, and by her brother Joseph Papajcik, Jr. in 1987.

Visitation will be Thursday March 5, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2428 Elyria Avenue, Lorain The Reverend David A. Novak, Pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
