Valentin Castillo Medero, 88, Former Business Owner
Valentin Castillo Medero, 88 of Lorain died on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center in Lorain, unexpectedly.
Mr. Medero was born in Carolina, PR on Nov. 3, 1920, the son of the late Simon Castillo and Juana Medero. He has lived in the Lorain area since 1951.
He owned and operated Val's Excavating in Lorain for 29 years retiring in 2002. He worked also for the former Milad Chevrolet/Olds.
Mr. Medero is survived by daughter Zoraida (Robert) Cruzado of Lorain, Rosanna (Wally) Castillo Griffith of Ramsey, NJ, son Valentin Castillo, Pedro J (Jolan) Castillo, and Miguel Castillo all of Lorain, He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Rafaela Cedres.
Services were private. Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
