Elizabeth M. Husty, 86, Devoted Homemaker

May 20, 1922 she was born to the late Francesco and Maria (nee Greco) Gearde in Rivesville, West Virginia. She came to Lorain in 1947.
During World War II, Mrs. Husty worked for Westinghouse in West Virginia.
She was a devoted and selfless homemaker and mother, who was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Lorain. She enjoyed flowers, canning her own produce, watching the Cleveland Indians and the Food Channel. She was also a great cook and generous neighbor.
She will be deeply missed by her children George Husty, III, Annette (Robert) Sexstella and Mary (George) Renner all of Lorain, brothers David (Pat) Gearde of Rivesville and Frank (Carolyn) Gearde of Hobe, Fla. Sisters RoseMary Liberto and Josephine Pobega both of Rivesville, She will be especially missed by her four grand children, four great grand children, and many nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years George Husty, Jr. last year, sister Agnes Divoli and a brother Joseph Gearde.
Her family will receive friends Monday, March 9, 2009 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440) 277-8164. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, March 10 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Fr. James Schmitz, pastor of Saint Ladislaus Catholic Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
