Carol Jean Kennedy, 78, Enjoyed Boating and Fishing

Photo of Carol Jean Kennedy Carol Jean Kennedy (nee Schneider), 78 of Vermilion, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in Community Health Partners West after a short illness.

She was born July 19, 1930 in Cleveland and has been a Vermilion resident since 1989 moving from North Olmsted.

She had worked as the manager of Spitzer Hardware Store, Grafton for 20 years retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Vermilion Evangelical & Reformed Church, Vermilion VFW Women’s Aux. Post 7576, and the Vermilion SOS (serving our seniors).

Carol enjoyed boating, fishing, cooking, word searches, playing solitaire, and walking her dog Little Bit II.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Chris Kennedy of North Olmsted; son, Bradley L Kennedy of Wellington; daughter, Darlene Kennedy of Vermilion; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Rick Helmuth of Orrville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Donald Schneider of Westlake; and sister Roberta Merchant of York, Maine.
Preceding her in death were her husband Douglas L. Kennedy in 2005;and parents, Oscar and Harriet (nee Dawson) Schneider.

A Memorial service for Carol and Douglas Kennedy will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, corner Grand and Ohio Streets, Vermilion, with Reverend Nick Cacciatore, pastor, officiating.
