Barbara A. Jacobs, 65, President of Quality Security Door

Photo of Barbara A. Jacobs Barbara A. Jacobs (nee Roachell), age 65, of Lorain, died Friday March 13th, 2009 at Community Health Partners Hospital & Surgical Center following a brief illness.

She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on July 17, 1943 and had been a resident of Lorain since 1958 coming from Brighton, Tennessee.

Mrs. Jacobs was a 1961 graduate of Lorain High School. She was the co-founder of Quality Security Door in Lorain and had served as the company’s president since its inception in 1976.

A member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Amherst, Barbara was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of Amherst Eagles Aerie # 1442 and Elmer Johnson Post # 118 of the American Legion.

She was an avid fan of all Cleveland professional sports teams; additional interests included yard work and landscaping.

She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years Robert E. Jacobs, by sons Rick and Randy both of Lorain, and Ron of Amherst, seven grandchildren, one great grandson, and brothers E.L. Roachell, Jr. of Memphis and Bobby Roachell of Covington, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents E.L. Roachell, Sr. and Elsie M. (nee Banks) Roachell.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday March 17th at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 1100 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. The Reverend Jerry Banks will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
