Helen M. Misley, 91, Enjoyed Collecting Antiques

Helen M. Misley (nee Berta), 91, of Lorain, died Wednesday April 1, 2009 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home in Amherst after a long illness

She was born August 29, 1917 in Duquense, Pennsylvania and had resided in the Lorain are most of her life.

Helen was a Lorain High School graduate and worked as a seamstress at Weitz Clothiers in Lorain. She was a member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Elyria Township and the Helen Steiner Rice Group in Lorain. She enjoyed shopping and collecting antiques.

She is survived by her daughter Maxine Kantor (John) of Lorain, grandchildren Megan Brenot (Eddie) of Lorain, Aaron Kantor (Ashley Gerst) of Cleveland and Max Kantor of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband Max J. Misley in 1991, parents Leslie and Anna Berta (nee Bruscko), brothers Elmer, Andy and Leslie Berta and sister Irene Carney.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Bill Seith will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
