Anne M. Stevens, 72, Enjoyed Cooking and Reading

Photo of Anne M. Stevens Anne M Stevens (nee Faber), 72 of Vermilion, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a short illness.

She was born July 18, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio. She has been a Vermilion resident for the past 6 years, moving from Westlake where she had lived for 35 years.

She worked in the cafeteria at St. Edwards High School, Lakewood for 11 years and retired in 1995. She then worked for Vermilion schools cafeteria for 5 years on a call in basis.

She enjoyed cooking, crafts, reading and her grandchildren and great grand children. She was a grandmother to all children.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (the late Ray) Buczek of Vermilion, Sandra (David) Sweet of Oberlin, and Lisa (Chuck) Lawhead of Coulterville, IL; 8 grandchildren: Christopher, Berlyn, Kayleigh, Ian, Julie, Nathan, and Jason; 4 great grandsons: Jordan Ray, Jovanni, Treyton, and Remington; sister, Dolores Stevens of Texas and a brother, John Faber of Wickliffe, OH.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Stevens May 9, 2005; son in law Ray Buczek in 1997 and a sister Carol Muzila in 1985.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2009 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Fr. Francis Speier, officiating.
