Linda L. Simo, 57, Devoted to Grandchildren

She was born in Amherst on August 31st, 1951 and was a 1969 graduate of Clearview High School.
Linda had been employed as a bus driver for the Berlin-Milan School District; she retired in 2006 following eighteen years of service with the district.
Mrs. Simo was a member of the Family Fellowship Foursquare Gospel Church in Amherst as well as a member of the Wild Purple Passionate Women of the Red Hat Ladies. An avid league bowler throughout Erie County, she was a certified ceramics instructor teaching the craft out of her home. Linda had formerly served as an assistant troop leader for the Erie Shores Girl Scout Council. In her free time she enjoyed camping and the outdoors.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-seven years Robert J. Simo, by son Robert J. Simo and his wife Kelly residing in Amherst, by her daughter Jodi Larsen and her husband Marty of Mansfield, by the four grandchildren who put the twinkle in her eye Maylynn Hyde, Andrew Larsen, Camden Simo, and Evan Larsen, by her father Stanley Bansek, Sr. of Amherst, and by brothers Stanley Bansek, Jr. of Amherst, Paul Bansek of Berlin Heights, Richard Bansek of Chatham, and Daniel Bansek of Rochester, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sherrie Ann Simo in 1972, by her mother Constance Bansek (nee Fields), and by her step-mother Ruth Bansek (nee FitzPatrick).
Visitation will be Friday, April 17, 2009, from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Family Fellowship Foursquare Gospel Church, 780 Cooper-Foster Park Road, Amherst with the Reverend William Mouer, Pastor presiding. Burial will follow in Peaks Cemetery, Berlin Heights.
